Need a pep talk? Here ya go:

Amanda shares a pep talk with you.

It’s only Monday. But it feels like Thursday. I am so tired: mentally, physically, emotionally, etc.

So I decided that I need a pep talk. And, since I am currently hiding out from the rest of humanity, I decided to create my own pep talk. And, since I also know that many of my Creighton peers are under debilitating amounts of stress, I thought I would share it with my social network. I am going to now be your personal cheerleader.

Step 1) Watch some inspirational videos. I like the Kid President pep talk, Clint Eastwood’s “Halftime in America” Superbowl commercial,  and this little girl’s daily affirmation speech.

Step 2) Boogie. Turn up the volume and dance around your room. Getting your blood moving will be sure to put a smile on your face. I have a special playlist for times like this, which is aptly titled “YOU CAN DO IT!”

On my playlist: Pharrell Williams’ “Happy”
Rolling in the Deep” by Adele
Taylor Swift’s empowering “Fearless
Florence & The Machine’s infectious “Shake It Out,”
The Edge of Glory” by Lady GaGa
Tom Petty’s classic “American Girl
Eminem’s “Lose Yourself
Burning Love” by Elvis Presley
The Glee version of “Teenage Dream
Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5

Step 3) Google inspirational quotes. Here are my favorites:

“When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you until it seems that you cannot hold on for a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time when the tide will turn.” — Harriet Beecher Stowe

“When people are determined they can overcome anything.” — Nelson Mandela

“The reward of a thing well done, is to have done it.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

“A box of Hot Tamales makes the world go ’round.” — Amanda Brandt

Now go in peace, knowing that the world is cheering for you.
